等待 Offer 中的一个典型场景是：你已经收到了一些录取通知，但是还没有收到你最想去的学校的录取通知，或者是你通过 一些信息渠道 得知已经有很多人收到录取了。这时候一个常见的选择是发邮件问问，下面是一份邮件模板。

Dear <the program> Admission Committee,
Greetings, I am <your name>, an applicant for the <the program> at <the school>, and <id info>. I am planning to make my final decision recently because I will need to spare enough time for visa affairs / prepare for my travel to the US, but I have not heard anything back from your program since my submission of my application last November. I am really looking forward to joining your learning community and <the program> is still my top choice. I am wondering if it is possible to know about my current application status and if may I still have the chance to join you. It will greatly help me make my decision, thank you.

1. 4.15 协议¶
另一个等 offer & 做决定时比较 trick 的地方是 美国 很多高校有所谓的 4.15 协议。大意就是：对于带奖的 offer 学生没有义务在 4.15 日之前对 offer 做出任何答复，并且即使是已经接了的 offer 也可以在 4.15 之前反悔。所以如果你在 4.15 之前收到了一个 offer，但是你还在等待你更想去的学校的 offer，那么你可以先接了这个 offer，然后在 4.15 之前再决定要不要反悔。
另一方面来说，形式上在 4.15 之后你已经接了 offer 就不能反悔了，但仅仅是形式上，很多时候只要向已经接 offer 学校合理解释，他们也不会为难你。
在等 offer 层面，4.15 协议有两个影响：
- 一是若你已经手握多个 offer，但你在 4.15 之后还没有答复他们，那么你的 offer 是可以被学校合理取消的（或者有些项目可能会另外声明他们的 ddl，但总之一般都是这个日期前后）

二是由于有些人会默认不回复自己的放弃的 offer 等它自动 4.15 过期，所以你确实是可能会在 4.15 后收到一些项目的消息的。
另一方面来说，也正是因此我们建议对于你确定不去的项目，就尽早放弃掉，这样可以让别人早点收到 offer。
